Al-Arqam Story
Al-Arqam Islamic School opened its doors in 1998 to eight students and three teachers after years of planning. The school was first located at the Muslim Mosque Association in Sacramento, occupying four classrooms for Kindergarten through 3rd-grade students. By the grace of Allah (SWT), then the hard work and sacrifices of a dedicated board, administration, faculty, and parents, all who shared a vested interest in the success of this project, Al-Arqam quickly took shape and started an impressive and steady pattern of growth and accomplishments that surprised and delighted even its own founders. The first floor of the school occupies and makes full use of 12 classrooms, a Computer lab, Science lab, cafeteria, gym, soccer field and playground, and a Library with over 7000 books and teacher resources. In 2016, Al-Arqam opened its second floor with 20 more classrooms, a library, auditorium, and additional administrative offices. It currently serves over 450 students in grades pre-kindergarten to twelfth.
Though the school has seen tremendous changes over the past two decades, the vision of Islamic education and academic excellence has remained constant. Al-Arqam's staff and parents continue to work together to integrate the Islamic faith into all aspects of daily life, and to support our students to achieve their fullest potential academically, intellectually and spiritually.
